7 Free Job Boards for Legit Writing Gigs

These days, more and more people are ditching their nine-to-fives to build their own businesses or work from home. Whether you’re a writer looking to build a legitimate home-based business or just trying to earn some money on the side, it can be difficult to know where to start.

When you’re working for yourself, time is money, and you don’t want to spend all your time bidding on random jobs on Upwork, competing with loads of other experienced writers.

To make your job slightly easier, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite online job boards to get you writing and making that monayy. Whether you’re into journalism, content writing, editing, or otherwise, give these boards a look-see and go snag some clients!

ProBlogger

Problogger is a great job board for writers that is updated frequently, and you’ll find everything from copywriting, editing, content writing, and journalistic jobs in a variety of fields.

MediaBistro

MediaBistro is a fantastic job resource that’s geared toward those who are interested in marketing, publishing, digital media, journalism, and more.

WeWorkRemotely

This job board posts a variety of remote job leads, including copywriting and content marketing. it’s updated frequently and new jobs are added often.

BloggingPro

Another awesome job board that’s pretty similar to ProBlogger, BloggingPro posts plenty of virtual/remote writing opportunities encompassing a variety of industries.

Virtual Vocations

This job board is great to keep an eye on, and there’s tons of other remote jobs to choose from aside from writing like editing, proofreading, and other jobs in the creative realm.

Inkwell Editorial

Inkwell Editorial has tons of resources for freelance writers, and the site’s owner, Yuwanda Black, publishes a list of writing jobs from around the web on a regular basis.

If it’s not already obvious, this site posts jobs for folks looking for work in the media. It’s great option if you’re looking to write for newspapers, online publications, news blogs, etc.
