6 Awesome Game Apps to Play Games with Friends via Video Chat During the Quarantine
by Tiffany Walking Eagle | 2-minute read
2020 sure has been a wild ride so far, hasn’t it?
Wherever you are, I hope you’re healthy and in a position to self-isolate as much as possible. I know these times are tough and a little uncertain.
To help make social distancing a little more bearable, I put together a list of a few game apps that are fun to play via video chat (FaceTime, Skype, Zoom) with friends and family. Hosting a virtual game night is one surefire way to lift spirits right now!
For Cards Against Humanity Lovers: Evil Apples vs. Humanity (iOS and Android)
Evil Apples vs. Humanity is basically just like a virtual version of Cards Against Humanity. I appreciated the fact that the cards were different, as you know how when you’ve played CAH a few times, it can get a little repetitive.
The app itself is free, and it offers in-app purchases. We played this via FaceTime with friends over the weekend and had a blast, so I hope you can have some fun with this one!

For UNO!/card game lovers: UNO! (iOS and Android)
Who doesn’t love a good game of UNO! ?! This was one of my favorite games as a kid, so I was so excited to discover there’s an app, since it’s obviously it doesn’t really work to play with real cards via video chat.
For word game lovers: Scrabble GO (iOS and Android)
If you’re a words person, lucky for you, Scrabble is now available via app so you can play with friends from the comfort and safety of your home.

Like Charades? Word association games? Trivia? Drawing? You’ll love Houseparty (iOS and Android)
Houseparty is pretty much going to be a lifesaver during the quarantine. The cool thing about it is it’s a video chat app with four games included you can play with friends, so no need to mess with FaceTime or Skype.
For fans of trivia: Who Wants to be a Millionaire? (iOS and Android)
Did any of you watch this show growing up? I sure did, and the host, Regis Philbin, was my favorite. Though Regis won’t be there, this app is a great option for people who love trivia games.
Another one for trivia lovers: Trivia Crack (iOS and Android)
Everyone was playing this game when I was in college, and now is a great time for it to make a comeback. Trivia Crack offers a variety of categories to test your knowledge, so give it a try!
